Uma Maheshwari Bharathi

Uma Maheshwari Bharathi is an AMTAR Associate HDR Student working with Prof David Owen and Dr Pie Huda at The University of Queensland’s AIBN. Uma completed a Master of Science (by Research) in Biology from University of St Andrews, United Kingdom in 2023. Her PhD research project is focused on the development of a targeted radiopharmaceuticals platform combining small antibody fragments such as nanobodies with different radioisotopes, creating highly potent targeted therapies. The main aims are to explore and identify appropriate bioconjugation methods, optimising pharmacokinetic profiles of antibody fragments as well as discovery of novel targeting ligands.
