Profile

Nicholas Fletcher

Dr Nicholas Fletcher is an Advance Queensland Industry Research Fellow and Radiobiology theme leader at The University of Queensland’s Centre for Advanced Imaging and Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology. He has expertise in radiobiology, radiochemistry, preclinical therapeutic and molecular imaging approaches. Dr Fletcher collaborates with AMTAR partners AdvanCell, Telix, Starpharma and Glytherix, across a range of projects, from devising and producing novel nanomedicines and targeting approaches for nanomedicines through to advanced molecular imaging approaches to probe biological responses to therapeutic interventions at unprecedented scale. His fellowship and current research program in radiobiology is focused on not just delivering radiopharmaceuticals to the tumour, but understanding how the body, particularly the immune system, respond to these pharmaceuticals. Such an understanding will allow prognostic monitoring of interventions as well as potentially developing approaches to harness the immune system to improve patient outcomes.
