Amrita Kumari

Dr Amrita Kumari is a biotechnologist with a solid foundation in cell biology, molecular biology and biochemistry. Amrita has completed her PhD from Regional Centre for Biotechnology, India. For her doctoral work, she studied the role of the molecular motor dynein during cell division, which was published in the prestigious Journal of Cell Biology (JCB) and was featured on the cover of the December 2021 JCB issue. She moved to the United States to join University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School as a postdoctoral associate in 2022. She was working on one of the most widely used cancer proliferation markers by histologists called Ki-67, spanning the DNA damage and genome stability aspect of cancer biology before moving to Australia in 2024 to join AMTAR as a postdoctoral research fellow. At AMTAR, Amrita is set to work on novel biologics and radiopharmaceutical manufacturing technologies and contribute towards fundamental understanding of targeted radio therapeutic agents.

Amrita has won several national and international awards for presenting her research work at various platforms. She loves communicating science to various audiences through posters, talks, blogs and outreach programs.
